About US
Xara
ranch
Our journey didn’t begin with livestock. In fact, Xara Ranch started as a vegetable farm. As we grew, we learned an important lesson: success comes from knowing what you do best. While vegetables played an important role in our early years, we soon realized our true passion and strength lay in raising animals and producing exceptional meat. We made the difficult decision to focus entirely on livestock—and it changed everything.

About Xara ranch
It Started With a Simple Belief
Back in 2015, nestled in the rolling hills of Mbale, Xara Ranch began as a modest income-generating venture with a simple mission: provide fresh, high-quality food to people who cared about what they put on their plates.
At the time, we saw a gap in the market. Restaurants were struggling to find consistently fresh, quality meat products they could trust. We partnered with our very first client, Endiro Coffee & Restaurant, and began raising the meats served in their kitchens.

What started as a small farm quickly became something much bigger.
Like many young businesses, our early years were filled with challenges. We faced losses due to limited experience in animal husbandry, processing, storage, and product consistency. Animals didn’t gain weight as efficiently as they should have. Product wastage cost us valuable resources. There were mistakes, setbacks, and difficult lessons.
But every challenge became an opportunity to learn. Every loss made us better. Every year made us stronger.
Our advantages
Our Values
Integrity
We believe customers deserve complete honesty about how their food is raised, processed, and delivered.
Stewardship
We are caretakers of our animals, our land, and the resources entrusted to us.
Quality Without Compromise
We never sacrifice quality for convenience, shortcuts, or volume.
Sustainability
We believe farming should leave the land better than we found it while creating healthier food systems for future generations.
Community
Success is meaningful only when it creates opportunities for others to grow alongside us.
Our Story
Growing Through Adversity
Perhaps the defining moment in our story came during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like many businesses around the world, we faced uncertainty. We were preparing for the possibility of shutting down operations and laying off valued members of our team. The future looked uncertain.
Then something unexpected happened.
What we thought would be our most difficult year became one of our busiest.
As more people became conscious of where their food came from, demand for responsibly raised, high- quality meat grew rapidly. That period became a turning point for Xara Ranch and accelerated our expansion into the retail market.
Today, we have evolved from a small butcher shop into a trusted supplier serving households, safari lodges, hotels, restaurants, and institutions across Uganda.
Alongside our premium fresh meats, we have developed a growing range of gourmet products including:
- Artisan sausages
- Meatballs
- Quick meals
- Pre-marinated meats
- Naturally smoked meats
- Meat snacks
Every product is crafted with the same philosophy that has guided us from day one: simple ingredients, authentic flavor, and uncompromising quality.
Our products contain no artificial fillers, enhancers, nitrites, nitrates, or unnecessary preservatives commonly used in industrial meat production. Many are also naturally gluten-free.
Today, you can find us at farmers’ markets across Kampala, including the U.S. Embassy Market, Ambrosoli International School, International School of Uganda, and the 7 Hills Farmers Market, with more locations being added as we continue to grow.
Why We Farm Differently
More Than Meat
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate more than a decade of growth, our vision extends beyond our farm gates.
We are currently developing a community-based pastured poultry program designed to empower women led households and organizations supporting vulnerable children.
Through this initiative, we will provide training, technical support, sustainable farming practices, and guaranteed market access for poultry raised under the program.
Our goal is simple: create a network of farmers producing food that is good for people, good for animals,
and good for the environment.
This is only the beginning.
In the years ahead, we look forward to opening our farm to visitors through educational experiences, agritourism, and farm tours, allowing families to see firsthand where their food comes from and the principles behind how it is raised
The Future We Believe In
We envision a future where farming works in harmony with nature.
A future where animals are raised with dignity.
A future where communities prosper through sustainable agriculture.
A future where consumers never have to question the quality of the food on their tables.
That future is what drives us every day.
And for more than a decade, it has been the reason we do what we do.
Welcome to Xara Ranch.
Free Range. Pasture Raised. Grass Fed.
Raised the way nature intended
