From Our Farm to Your Family’s Table

Our Story

XARA RANCH

Our story began back in 2014, out on the plains of Mbale town, with the majestic Mt. Elgon watching over us. We had ourselves a humble 5-acre vegetable farm, growing spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, onions, squash, beetroot, and all sorts of herbs. One of our partners, Endiro, was mighty pleased with our fresh produce.
But, as life would have it, our inexperience got the better of us. We didn’t have the right talent, and soon enough, we had to shut down the farm. Just before we closed, though, we started supplying Endiro with nitrate-free bacon, beef tenderloin, chicken, and some pork products. They loved the quality, saying it was just what the market needed.
With heavy hearts but determined spirits, we packed up and moved to Kampala in 2015, looking for a way to grow our meat business. That’s when Xara Ranch was born. It became an income-generating project for the Global Orphanage, Samuel T. Roberts, and our Ugandan partner, Mark.
